This event will be all day Saturday Sept. 29th 2007 beginning at
10am until dark, or overnight if you like.
As of Sept 24 the campground is full.
Of course anyone can come to the daily activities. Also if anyone
else wants to camp out there should be room at the Oconee State Park) (N34 51.927 W83 06.609)
which is only 10 miles away by road.
When you arrive the gate should be
unlocked. If not there is a combo lock with the combination
1155.
Now all activities are optional. You can take part in just
one or two or any combination or all of them. If you just want to
stop by socialize for awhile that is fine.
Each person or group is asked to bring a sack lunch. Don't
forget to bring your coffee and donuts, for Sunday morning.
For the evening meals you may join the group and eat family
style or do your own thing.
There are no stores for miles. Make sure to bring everything you
need. — civilization is far away. This includes water, because the
well at the campsite is dry. But there is a Toilet, a Pit
Toilet
There are several things planned include a trip to the nearby
park, then for the people staying, a night hike to do the
Lacy Snipe Hunt. This is for people that want to find the snipe
but not have to lug in enough stuff to spend the night in its
woods.
But for the people who have been to previous camp outs, I am sorry
to say Bubba couldn't make it this year. But we have new game for
everyone to play.
There will be no charge for the ones that spend the night. There
is room for around 15 tents and vehicles.

Trip to Stumphouse Tunnel - Issaqueena Falls park, just a few
miles away. We will have a bring your box lunch at the park and
tour the tunnel and falls, then a short hike to find a cache or
two. There is one brand new cache there. Ask for the
coords! |

The bravest cachers will depart for the optional
Lacy snipe hunt in the wild dark forest. |
Even if you are not planning to spend the night, you should
bring a flashlight, especially if you plan to go to the park or on
the Snipe hunt. Also you should bring a camping chair.
All activities are optional, you can come for any combination.
Just socializing, eating, or the trip to the park, or take part in
the "navigation" game or even meet up to go the snipe hunt.
