Sullivan
The Famous Fires of Sullivan series is here to create an
awareness of fires that had an impact on the Sullivan community,
either by destroying historic buildings, or by the loss of
lives.
Just room for a log, so bring your own pencil. 2 rating
is for muggle factor only.
2 Fires near here are noteworthy
1. Sullivan City Hall. Built in 1910 and remained the
city hall and firehouse until a fire on November 14th 1983.
The City Hall and Firehouse was then moved to its current
location.
The building was then restored and now is home to Joseph Burton
attorney at Law, and Medlife EMS, Emergency Medical
Services.
2. The McCammon Hotel. Totally destroyed by fire in 1908
was adjacent to the location of the Firehouse, and was destroyed 2
years before the Firehouse was constructed.
