Geocache Description:

Located on a newly constructed cycle path between Meadow Lane Long Eaton & Barton Lane

The Cache is in a small plastic container 4inch X 1 inch x 1 inch and mounted with a magnet. It contains a Log sheet, pencil, pencil sharpener and a first find card.

The River Erewash is a river that flows roughly southwards through Derbyshire, close to its eastern border with Nottinghamshire. It rises at a point south east of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, flows roughly westward to Eastwood then southward through Ilkeston, Sandiacre and into the River Trent, near Long Eaton. It forms the boundary between south Derbyshire and south Nottinghamshire.

It gives its name to the Erewash Valley, which has a rich industrial history, and the local government district and borough of Erewash.

Although the river is not navigable at any part, it is paralleled by the Erewash Canal for much of its length (Langley Mill to the River Trent).

The River exit into the Trent is about to change back to near where it exited in the 70s
to prevent the silting up of ponds in Attenborough Nature reserve, and to help prevent flooding in the area.

Can Park at Trent Meadows carpark Meadow Lane or at Attenborough Nature reserve Barton Lane.
