Always wanting to 'play' in the woods, we grew up going to
Grandpa's Cabin near Galena, just past Index.
Watching this road get flooded about every 5 years or so, we
knew it was a matter of time. Talking with some locals up here,
seems that the DOT does not want to put any money into fixing this
stretch of road for some time.
Therefore some of the caches further up will go un-noticed for
some time, so this one will bring you to a spot where Mother Nature
reminds us just who is the Boss.... Actually this site is quite
impressive as well as safe for kids to learn the power of
Nature.
Cache is a retired/retrieved ammo can, who was once a cache in
another far off place. As always, replace carefully to go both
un-noticed and safe from harm. Cache is placed back from the
waters, so it is safe for young and old alike.
