Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

NCreviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

The container has been replaced with a camo'd bison tube.

I have happily adopted this awesome cache from jcdecker after discovering it last month and falling in love with the location. I am leaving his description intact below and hope a lot more folks will discover it.

Well once again I thought I was done with cemetery caches but I was out caching in the Apex area and I stumbled on this very unique cemetery. It is a mix of old and new stones surrounded by new development.

A website I found lists it as belonging to the Union Chapel Baptist Church. When I look in the register of deeds it appears to belong to the Apex First Baptist Church. There is a small patch of dirt to park in off of Tingen Rd. As always respect the area.

As usual, you have to fill in the coordinates based on numbers on the stones.

Latitude:
The posted coordinates will take you to the grave of Arthur Leo Mangum who served in WWII. I always have a special place in my mind for those that served our country.
35 42.AAA
AAA - last three digits of Arthur's birth year - 7

Longitude:
78 51.XXY

Walk on over to N35 42.894 W78 51.518 and you will see the grave of Ada Perry Atwater - note the stone next to her.

XX = Last 2 digits of Ada's year of death + 2

Now walk over to N35 42.923 W78 51.516 and you will find the grave of Victoria Page. For some reason I enjoyed the statement on her stone.

Y = Month of Victoria's death

Enjoy the stroll. This time I did hide the cache within the cemetery which I usually don't like to do but I believe in this case the hide is respectful.
