The orange trail at the Wawanosh Conservation Area is a beautiful, wide, well-groomed trail along the Belgrave Creek and Maitland River. It is nice to be able to walk side-by-side along the trails! The portion of the orange trail along the river is one of the nicest trails you will ever walk.
The cache is a clear lock-lock container.
The outer loop of the trails is a bit over 3 kms. Some of the area looks as if it might be a bit muddy during wetter seasons, so be prepared; however, most of the damper areas have boardwalks on the trails.
Park at N43 - 49.525; W081 - 27.430 (the parking area for the nature centre).
Also, both the hiking guide and the signs at the trail head warn of poison ivy along the creek and river; long pants and socks might be a good idea.
But wait until you see the area -- you'll love it. Ms. Eclectic and I were delighted with the views and the atmosphere as we strolled along the trails here.
It might be a bit long for small children.
