Geocache Description:

Cache is a small container placed on a small island at Cowan Lake.

This cache is the brain-child of our eleven year old son Kevin and his friend Ryan. Kevin took 2 weeks of water craft education thru the Greene County Parks. The course took place at Cowan Lake State Park.
While taking the course, the group took a canoe ride over to Austin Island and took a little break on the island. That is when Kevin got the idea that there needs to be a cache on this island because he knew that other lakes had such caches.
Later, when Kevin was with his mother at Caesar Creek State Park, he asked the very nice man in charge if he could place a cache on the island. Permission was granted for Kevin to do such a thing. His only problem was - no boat.
That is where his friend Ryan comes into the picture. Ryan's family has a small fishing boat that they use for trips to Caesar Creek, Cowan Lake and other farther off destinations. So, Ryan and Kevin talked to Ryan's dad Tim and the placement of the cache was planned.
Thus, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, Ryan and Kevin set off to place a cache on the island. They would like to thank Ryan's dad Tim for his help in driving them to Cowan Lake and taking them to the island and for a little fishing while there.
The rest is up to you - grab your boat, canoe, or kayak and take a little trip over to Austin Island and find Kevin and Ryan's cache. Watch out for the goose droppings and the big spider protecting the cache and please remember to replace the cache as you found it to keep it protected.

Note: Cowan Lake has a 10 horsepower limit.
