A lesser known and harder to find cemetery in Bainbridge Township.
Some call it Brewster Cemetery, some call it the Southwest Burying Grounds, and I call it Henry Cemetery. Whatever the name some people don’t even know its there. As the youngest life member of the Bainbridge Historical Society I feel more should know of these small cemeteries. FACT: Joseph Witter, a Revolutionary War veteran, was buried there (that’s reason enough to see this one).
The cemetery is located off Brewster Rd in Bainbridge Twp. There is no sign, no parking lot, and no real path. I would advise parking on the far west side of the road(N 41° 21.272 W 081° 21.659) on the turn (WATCH OUT: it’s a partial blind hill/corner) and walk across to the East side. There is a slight path visible near an anthill on the side of the hill. Don’t disturb the residents that border the cemetery. Open Dusk till dawn. Watch for poison Ivy.
FYI-Orange Ribbons mark path - Coordinates are off a bit(treecover thick)
