The event will start at 8:00
AM and ends at 10:30 AM. Everyone is responsible for their own
breakfast and drinks. The room is free to us, but the manager has
asked us to be sure and tip the servers well for such a large
group. This meeting is casual and informal. It is suitable for both
adults and children. The goal is to discuss geocaching and
waymarking or anything else that we feel like talking
about.
There will be an area set up
to display and discover geocoins. Cachers with multiple geocoins
please bring a handout sheet with your tracking numbers for easy
sharing. If you wish, please drop geocoins into the cache before
the event.
There will also be an area set
up to exchange and discover travel bugs. Please drop travel bugs
into the cache before the event. Pick up any you can move on to a
new cache. Don’t forget to grab them online after leaving the
event. Any travel bugs physically left on the table after the event
will be placed in a local cache.
Please make a “Will Attend”
log entry in advance if you plan to attend and tell us how many are
in your party so we can get a head count. Don’t forget to make an
“Attended” log entry afterwards as this counts as a
find.
If you are new to geocaching
please come and ask questions. If you are a veteran please come and
share your experiences.
There will be an optional
special event cache to find if you choose to do so. Details will be
posted at the event.
Barry The Geocaching Bear will
be making a special guest appearance.
I am sure you are all familiar
with geocaching. There is another associated niche called
‘Waymarking’. The waymarks took the place of the ‘Virtual Caches’.
For more information about waymarks in this area, click on the link
below where it says "...all nearby waymarks on
Waymarking.com" to see the waymarks nearby.
