Castle Hill Traditional Cache
stonefielders: Looks like the cache has gone missing. Time to archive it.
It was placed on Castle Hill as there was no other cache there and it felt a worthy place for a cache. There are now enough caches in the area to keep you busy all day.

Located by a path near the hilltop car park on Castle Hill,
Huddersfield.
Castle Hill and its tower are the most visible landmarks in the
whole of Kirklees.
There are open grassy slopes & paths, historic ramparts & a
glorious view over Huddersfield itself as well as parts of West
& South Yorkshire, the Pennines & the Peak NP.
Victoria Tower, which is open at weekends during the summer months,
gives an even greater range to the panoramic view.
Castle Hill was originally a prehistoric fortress with earth
ramparts & ditches.
In the 1140s, a castle was built, from where the hill gets its
name.
The present tower was built in 1897 to commemorate the diamond
jubilee of Queen Victoria. In between times, it has been often used
as a beacon to warn against attack - probably from Lancastrians!
This cache is the home to the TB, Guardian of Victoria Tower,
Castle Hill which has been released in this cache on a journey
round all other Castle Hill caches in the UK.
