Geocache Description:

Johnny's Jamboree 2006 - A simple cache with a travel bug hat from the event.

Johnny's Jamboree is a yearly event held on the first weekend in June. Dad's and their kids (Mom's get to stay home and relax) spend the weekend at the Jefferson Creek campground, hiking, fishing, doing ropes courses, singing and just hanging out at the camp ground.

This was my first year so I thought it would be fun to set up a geo-cache to commemorate the event. It is a simple cache, since it is my first. It has toys and a Johnny’s Jamboree hat travel bug in it.

There are a couple of ways to get to this cache, but in the spirit of the jamboree, go to the Jefferson Creek Campground. It is in the Jefferson Lake Recreation Area. The admission is 5 dollars, but there are a lot of things to do. The hiking is great and Jefferson Lake is a great spot for fishing.

When you get to the Jefferson Creek Campgrounds, drive to the end where there will be a loop. Campsites 14, 15, 16 and 17 are a round the loop but you should be able to find a place to park.

There is a trail head next to campsite 16 at N39 25.938 W105 51.081. Start there and have fun.
