Geocache Description:

This cache has been hidden to honor n8lgp’s (Steve's) achievement in finding 1,000 caches. NOTE - he has now blasted past 20,000 finds!!! THE LISTED COORDINATES WILL NOT TAKE YOU TO THE CACHE!!! It is a location on Barlow Road midway between two parks that you will have to visit to find this cache.

When we all got hooked on geocaching we all wondered how the heck anyone finds 1,000 caches. We all look at our beginning totals and then at other cachers’ numbers and wonder, how long will it take us? Then before you know, we find that magic cache, number 1,000.

Steve (n8lgp) started his journey to 1K in August 2006 when he found his first cache “GCMTDZ – Going Postal!”.
In less than a year, he found number 1,000! “GCGKTH – What’s in Zoar?”.

n8lgp (Steve)

This cache has been placed to honor that milestone. However, to find this cache, one will have to experience a little bit of what it takes to get to 1,000 finds. A puzzle cache, a multi-cache, a quick cache and dash (but not a lamp pole or guard rail), a cache hidden in a pine tree, caches requiring significant stealth, and caches buried in logs (with poison ivy nearby).

No heavy bushwhacking is necessary; unless one thinks that the best route between 2 points is always a straight line.

Congratulations Steve (n8lgp) and welcome to the NEOGeocachers 1K Class 11.

You can find the cache at (note location changed 5/27/13):

N41 12.ABC W081 24.DEF

Find the information specified in the next two questions and the codes provided in the four caches to replace ABCDEF with the needed numbers. The location of the final, the formula and the codes were changed 5/27/13. Contact the owner if you found the codes prior to that date.

A = Day of the month of n8lgp’s first cache hide minus 6.

D = Day of the month of n8lgp’s first cache find minus 14.

The cache is a camouflaged rectangular Lock & Lock container. This cache should be an easy find. However, the overall rating is based on the difficulties of the other caches required to obtain the codes. Although the cache location is somewhat out of sight, the area can be busy and the parking area seems to be a popular spot for taking lunch breaks. Please use stealth as necessary. Daylight hours only. Dogs on leash OK. Bug repellant is recommended. We've added a checker 5/27/13 to help you if needed.
