Geocache Description:

A favorite place for many locals.

This is one of the better swimming holes in the area. I spent a lot of time here when I was a teenager. Not only is it a fun place to swim, it is a neat place to get a peak at nature. Today we saw a hawk, a coyote, dragonflies, fish, and a black and orange caterpillar. We came for a dip and I realized that this would be a neat place for a cache. Just watch out for muggles - fast and slow ones.

Unfortunately this is also a popular drinking and partying spot. There is a lot of trash in the area and it would be great if you brought a garbage bag to help this area out... the last thing the portneuf river needs is more trash. We pulled out a lot of glass as well, in the river and out... so if you are taking a dip, make sure to keep your shoes on just to be safe. And, of course, remember to use caution whenever you swim, especially in the river.

The cache is located a short distance from the waterfall to keep it safe from all the party-goers :) You will not need to cross the river and the cache itself is easily accessible from the road. This cache is a small thermos that can only hold smaller items. I couldn't find a log book that fit today, so there are some orange pieces of paper for a make-shift log - if you have a small log and are heading out to this cache, that would be super-duper!
