Geocache Description:

Widtsoe was first settled in the late 19th century. After several name changes, all based on early settlers the name was changed to widtsoe in 1917. The population in 1920 was reported at 1100.

During the time I lived in Escalante there were virtually no occupied houses in Widtsoe. Today some life is returning and vacation homes and small ranch houses are popping up.
