Geocache Description:

Once upon a time there were two lakes here, Lake Mary and Lake Phoebe. If the water is low enough you might see them both.

Lake Mary has always been my favorite lake at Brighton. Even after they made the new less attractive trail it’s worth the hike. Before the dam was built, there were actually two lakes, Lake Mary and Lake Phoebe. I've heard both of the original lakes were even more beautiful but it all turned into Lake Mary when the water level rose. As pretty as Lake Mary is, it's always sad when nature has to be altered to fit our needs. Wadazi and I were thinking of placing this cache at Dog Lake or Martha, but when we stopped at Lake Mary the water was so low Phoebe had been temporarily reborn and I decided to place it here as a tribute. (Wadazi placed a cache too that may be a little tricky when the water comes back up)
Phoebe was the lower of the two lakes so the cache is actually by the real Lake Mary. Wadazi thought where we hid the cache looked like a bunker, but I thought it looked like some kind of primitive human sacrifice rock. You decide, but climb up and enjoy the view.

Update: It seems animals keep getting to my cache. Ammo can went missing, Camo taped container torn apart. It's currently a match container kindly replaced by some other cachers but should be in the same spot.
