Geocache Description:

The cache is located on the trail to Guagua Pichincha Crater. This is a good hike to take on a clear day, and you will be rewarded with a great view of the volcano if you continue up the trail to the end. Be prepared for cold weather and a challenging walk (altitude makes this one a bit of a challenge at 14,500 ft).

A day trip from Quito, this is a great place to visit on a clear day. Take the road to LLoa from Quito (Coordinates: 00 15.640' S, 78 32.776 W); this is off Mariscal Sucre in the south part of town. Take this road over the mountain ridge until you get to LLoa. Enter into the town and head towards these coordinates (00 14.645' S, 78 35.172' W); this road will take you all the way to the dirt parking lot where you can park to get to the cache and crater. There is not much to the parking lot, so when you see a flat area that seems to be suitable for parking, you are there!
Enjoy the view. From the crater you can see all the way to Santo Domingo.
