West Texas Reviewer: Hi cityfolks,
I am the area reviewer for Geocaching.com and your existing cache, "Hello Texas" (GC15PY3), has been brought to my attention, and I must to advise you that it is placed too close to an active railroad track and on re-review it must be archived. It is well within 150 feet of two active rail line and two active sidings.
A railroad's right-of-way generally extends a good deal beyond just the rail roadbed. The general rule is to keep geocaches at least 150 feet from any railroad tracks, including elevated tracks.
It is a Federal offense to place an object like a Geocache near an active rail line. A geocacher has been arrested, jailed, had to go to court and paid a large fine for placing a cache near an active railroad line. The local bomb squad destroyed his cache. You can read about the cacher's experience here: http://tinyurl.com/3mg8n
The State of Texas also has laws concerning trespassing on railroad property. You can view the details of Texas Penal Code, Title 7, Sec. 28.07.
I am sorry to have to do this as I know it is an old geocache hide. I, however, must abide by Federal and State laws and the safety of all concerned.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
