The only lodge in view from here is Lakeshore Lodge, which is the latest loss of a bit of history here at Bucks Lake. Of the three original lodges built in the 30's only one of them remains in business today. Haskins Valley Resort has been torn down and Lakeshore Lodge remains closed and boarded up. They are but fond memories to many locals and summer visitors to this beautiful lake. The cache is a medium sized clear "Lock and Lock" container full of goodies and prize for FTF in the log book. You can either hike in from Bucks Creek appx. 1 1/4 miles on good trail, or boat over. Bring a picnic lunch. It's a beautiful spot and explore the area, especially east of the cache. Check out the ancient grinding bowls in some of the large boulders. Have fun and thanks for stopping by. FTF-Catchandrelease **** 2020 Update: Bucks Lakeshore Resort is open & thriving! 8 cabins available to rent (not this year though) & a restaurant open depending on CA regulations at the time. Haskins Valley Inn is a bed & breakfast with a fully stocked store on the site of the original lodge. And Bucks Marina has boats to rent, gas & 8 cabins to rent (not sure about this year). All same extended family owned.
