Nursery Rhymes 101 #1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BlueRajah: I am archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please notice that I asked you some time ago to check this cache, and no action was taken. I had hoped that the cache may be replaced, or a note placed that you were going to go check on this cache in the near future.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the next three months please contact me, and assuming it meets the guidelines, I will be happy to unarchive it.
Thank you,

Geocache Description:

***Congratulations to Corb24 for the FTF*** This is an easy drive by location, you can park right beside where the cache is hidden. Please replace exactly where you found so it will not fall out of reach :]

It is generally believed that there is a relationship between many nursery rhymes and British history. Another view is that one can be reasonably confident that any story linking a nursery rhyme to a historical event or historical personage is most probably spurious and a form of popular myth.

Below are a couple of rhymes about pigs, once you see the placement and cache you will understand the connection.

To market, to market, to buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again, jiggety-jig;
To market, to market, to buy a fat hog,
Home again, home again, jiggety-jog.

This refers to Archbishop Cranmer's advice to King Henry VIII to divorce Queen Catherine and to take for himself treasures of the Church.

This little pig went to the market
This little pig stayed at home;
This little pig had roast beef;
This little pig had none;
This little pig said, "Wee, wee!
I can't find my way home."

It is also a rhyme involving a children's hiding game.
I hope you enjoyed the trivial information shared in this first Nursery Rhyme lesson. Be sure to come back for more, lesson two on up to follow soon! There is surprise rolled up in the log for the FTF! Happy caching!
