The Umgeni Valley Nature Reserve is situated opposite the Howic Falls.
Six walking trails will take you to different parts in this reserve. There are about 270 bird species and a long list of Animals such as Giraffe, Leopard, Zebra, Kudu ext.
The Umgeni Valley Reserve also give Enviromental Education Courses.
All visitors need to pay at reception; R15.00 pp and R8.00 for kids.

Start on the bigining part of the Black Eagle Trail and turn off to the Picnic Site trail with the Howic Falls on your right hand side. The site is 400 meters walk from the parking. Nice place to rest and have a good view and listen at the sounds of nature.
