This is the Kinnickinnic County Forest, also known as the St. Croix County Youth Forest. The pine trees were planted here by grade school children in the county from 1959-1967. There are some wonderful trails here that are great to walk on, cross-country ski, or even ride a horse. Nice parking area at the coordinates listed below. Stick to the trails on the way to this cache, as it is only 25’ or so off the main path; it’s a really pleasant hike! – Cache is a regular lock-n-lock container.
It was said, at one time, that pine snakes ran over this part of the forest. St. Patrick was called in and chased them otta here, much to the delight of those venturing in the woods. Although Pat was good at ridding the place of snakes, other creatures still lurk here – be watchful, as you never know what might be hiding. Enjoy your visit.
