This is the fourth geocache in the Jewett Preserve in the town of Lyme, and the third geocache on the Red Trail. It is named after the playful structures that are found on this bend in the trail.
NOTE: THIS IS A THEME CACHE! ALL CACHE ITEMS SHOULD BE SMALL AND RELATE TO ANIMALS.
The cache is located right on the Red Trail and requires no bushwacking. The closest parking is at the western most ENTRANCE location noted on the Jewett Preserve map (included as a photo below), then following the White Trail in, and taking a left onto the Red Trail to the cache.
Combined with Archer's Throne, Jewett's Jumble, and Parker's Point, it makes for a great loop walk in the Preserve. If you are hoping to hit all 4 caches, I suggest parking at the middle ENTRANCE location on Mount Archer Road, hiking the White Trail to Archer's Throne, taking a right on the Blue Trail, hiking into Pleasant Valley, then a left onto the Green Trail (a Pleasant Valley Trail), then another left onto the Red Trail which takes you back into the Jewett Preserve, passing Parker's Point, Jewett's Jumble, and Teepees' Treasure along the way, then a right on the White Trail, which takes you back to Mount Archer Road, then a final left on the road to return to where you parked. This is a more than 4 mile loop.
