Santa Gertrudis Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

chaosmanor: Nothing lasts forever, and this cache is one more example of that truism. Went up today to check on this, and TeamOttlet's report is quite accurate: lots of brush cutting, lots of P.O. coming up and out, and no good place, any longer, to put a cache. Even a micro is liable to be overrun by poison oak. So the best thing to do here is archive this, and either hide a small or micro at the monument, or let someone else do it. This had a nice run of more than five years, so we have no complaints. Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed this [:D]

Geocache Description:

A nice spot to pull over and learn a little history :-)

{124/110}

For several years, Team Dakiba (MightyDee) had a regular cache here: GCGFRZ. It was hiding in one of two Italian Cypress trees that used to be here. Only one remains; the other one, in which the cache was hidden, got diseased and was cut down early in 2007

This is an offset cache. The coords take you to a plaque; you will use some of the info on that plaque to get the final coords for the cache box. The cache is a decon container, about a tenth of a mile from the plaque; you can walk there from the plaque if you use a little caution, or you can park nearby, as long as you DO NOT park on the driveway to the water treatment plant!

To get to the final cache hiding spot, find the necessary information:

A = The third numeral of the year that this plaque was replaced.
B = The second numeral of the year that this plaque was marked.
C = The first numeral of the Parlor Number.

The cache is hidden at N 34º 20.ABC' by W 119º 17.ABC' Neat how that worked out, isn't it? Good luck and have fun!
