A traditional cache located near one of the nicest views of Pocahontas County in the Monongahela National Forest.
Access is by driving the Highland Scenic Highway 150 to the High Rocks Trail. The trailhead is located about 3.5 miles north of the intersection of Route 150/39.
The rest of the way requires hiking for about 1 1/2 miles along the High Rocks Trail.(Avoid bushwacking from Road 216, this shortcut is steep and slash-ridden)
The cache is located near the end of the trail. The container was placed on level terrain and no rock climbing is involved. Don't forget to visit the overlook which is at the end of the trail and almost in sight of the cache.
Care should be taken during hunting season and the Highland Scenic Highway is not plowed in winter and is often impassable, even with 4-wheel drive.
