Geocache Description:

A interesting up and coming "jungle" .

It just so happened that the name that sprang to mind is also the title of a song by one of the legendary rock bands of all time. You really shouldn't be allowed to read the coordinates of the cache if you don't know the answer :) (Shame on you!!!)

The answer, of course, is Guns 'n Roses, probably one of the greatest rock bands ever. Even though the band "Guns 'n Roses" will soon be releasing a new album, called "Chinese Democracy", it isn't the same band. Everyone except Axl Rose (lead singer) has moved on, and most of them are in a truely excellent band called "Velvet Revolver".

But I digress! I, Springstone, am a music nut, love rock in all its glory, and am the fortunate owner of front row tickets to go see my name sake (Bruce Springsteen visiting Bedrock - aka The Flintstones - which became Bruce Springstone), and my hero, LIVE in Holland near the end of year! And I digress again :)

Anyway, so this is a tribute to GnR of the 1990's, and is appropriately placed in an up and coming UAE "jungle" .

Phew, all that after starting out with a "jungle" theme!

The original cache contents include a veritable zoo, of many different mammals and a collection of fairly recognizable flora. Of course, there is the obligatory logbook and pen as well.
Best of all, the cache is seeded with GeoCRAt's Desert Wandering Camel, and my own, first in the UAE, Springstone's World Travel Geocoin, with its own COOL icon

which should reward the first to find nicely!

I am big on conserving nature, hence the idea for this cache, so I ask that you contribute to this cache accordingly; items representing nature OR if you happen to still own some key Guns 'n Roses do-dads, they will do nicely to!!! So the theme for this cache is "jungle" animals or GnR!

My suggestion is starting your trip to the cache from the following coordinates:

N 24 34.923' E 054 42.012'

UPDATE: Color me blonde, but I made a small typo in the suggested starting coords (thanks SweetLake for pointing it out), uhm E055 should be E054 which is some 100 km off!!

because the intention is to briefly drive through the tree arch, reminiscent of those found in certain areas of Europe and oddly out of place in desert country!

Also, if you look carefully to your left while driving along, probably about 500 meters or so, you will be able to see a little more to your left. You will also be able to spot a whole herd of little deer/buck, that look like pygmy "Springbok" for you South Africans out there.

The location is very close to the forestry efforts being undertaken by the UAE government, and will no doubt one day, be a veritable "jungle" !

I hope you enjoy finding the cache! It was a quicky, on my way home from work, but I liked the location, so I hope you do to. It does NOT require a 4x4 for those of you 4x4 challenged, the route to the cache is just a little bumpy, but certainly 2x4 friendly.
