Geocache Description:

An abandoned village high above the Boka Kotorska on the newly presented transversal route. Creepy under a leaden sky!

Velji Zalazi is an ancient long-abandoned village high above the bay and situated in limestone Karst scenery. It lies on part of the new tranversal hiking route that extends for almost the whole of the coastal mountain range of Montenegro. Among the old ruined houses there is a lovely small church called Sveti Vracevo near which you hopefully will find our cache. To prove that you have been there, please send us a private message answering this question: "What creature is chasing the fruit carrying bird?"

This beautiful hike mostly via an old Austro-Hungarian roadway will bring you to the village in about 1.75 hours starting from the road between Kotor and Njegushi. We suggest that you park your car at N42 25.610 E018 47.995.

Remember that mountain weather can change very rapidly so be prepared. Hiking boots advised. If you find the cache, please ensure that it is well hidden after your visit.
