Geocache Description:

All things must come to an end and alas, so must this series of caches. This event is to commemorate the end.

We have hidden 13 caches based on Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events books. We have tried to keep all 13 active so that cachers can complete the whole series. However, it is time to end this unfortunate series of caches. We may not be replacing caches as they go missing, so now is the time to get those last caches you haven’t found.

If you have enjoyed finding the caches in this series, well, we think you had better throw your GPS in the body of water located at N44º33.341 W123º15.935 and find yourself a new hobby!

For those of you who have found some of these unfortunate caches (or even if you haven’t), we will be meeting at the above coordinates to give everyone a time to commiserate about their wretched experiences finding these caches. We have been keeping track of the misery, and it is really sad to see, but you can check it out by following the user’s webpage link at the top of this cache description.

We hope that this event will help to cheer you up. For some of the cachers highest on the “misery index,” we will be offering some items that will hopefully give them some comfort.

This is a family friendly venue, so bring the kids. The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. Pizza can be purchased if you are hungry. Just be sure when you place your order not to ask for the Medusoid mycelium. And if anyone offers you a “coconut cordial,” pour it in the fern when nobody is looking.
