Geocache Description:

You folks are lucky, as this cache was going to be a bit of an epic, but things seem even more epic than I recall from way back when, and with rain setting in, I thought I would make it much shorter. Cache is now only 300m from parking lot, and can probably be done in about an hour or so.

Start the cache at East Fort parking lot on Chapman’s Peak, and make your way down to the lower of the forts.
You need to now head down to sea level. The route I took was on the left near the cannon battery, at the following co-ordinates:

S34 03.337
E018 21.788

This is a tricky and slippery path (if you could call it that), so be careful, and rather don’t attempt in wet weather.

Once at sea level, head left, hopping merrily along the rocks, being sure not to twist your ankle. Watch out for large waves! I have been along here 3 times before, and never really had issues with the tides, but might be best to do cache at low tide.

En route to cache, there is one section where you might need to jump down a short ledge, tide depending. Remember, don’t jump down what you can’t climb back up!

cache is hidden on largish ledge about 10m above the sea, just before the cleft in the cliff.
