Geocache Description:

Coordiantes are fuzzy so I averaged several.

In the spring of 2007 a group of us decided to ride our cycles to Burnt Cabins, Pa. One of our group knew of campground and we decided to check it out. What a pleasant surprise, the property also contains a working grist mill circa 1765. The mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. We had a guided tour of the mill followed by a very relaxing and informative chat with the Greg and Dawn Harnish family who set out to purchase a farm and till the land. But as fate would have it they are now millers and campground operators. We bought a bag of their corn meal, took it back to Lancaster County and made some of the best Corn Pone I've eaten in the last forty years.
There is one situation you must be aware of and you will need to ask the family for the current status. As I understand it, Greg has a problem keeping enough water flow to operate the mill. His water source starts under the far side of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Earl, the name given to a beaver who moved in and decided to build a dam at the mouth of Greg's mill race. Greg opens the obstruction and Earl chews down a couple of trees and plugs the hole again.
We had no luck finding a cache location close to the mill or Burnt Cabins. So with the owners permission we have hidden one just for you but be courteous and respectful of the property and the family..
It is an easy cache, part one will give you the coordinates to pin down the final location.
