Mark Park Traditional Cache
markellie: Looked for a good hiding spot for my replacement container. Everywhere I thought was a good spot I found cans, beer bottles or other junk. My park has been trashed and is no longer worthy of my name. It can go back to a no-named park section. I did notice that the old parking area has been closed and there is also a new trail joining this area to Pioneer Park. Perhaps that is a reason for all the new activity in my old park.

Located on a stretch of the Deschutes River. This cache is on the Bend Parks and Recreation property.
Looks like this might have been part of Pioneer Park back in the day. It's now separated by private property.
I now dub this area "MARK PARK".
Parking coordinates are N-44.04.016 / W-121.18.725. Go west from the parkway on Revere. Turn left at Harriman then turn right on Linstner. I know it looks scary but follow the gravel dead end road to to the river. This will take you to an old parking area in front of the rapids. The parking lot is a bit "rough" but hey, it's old and lost on the maps like this park.
Follow the trail north to the cache. For the impatient geocacher you can also park at the end of Revere ave.
There is an old fence to pass that warns of swans. The park property continues on the other side well past where the cache is located. Use your common sense if fowl are present. Go through the fence up by the rocks to avoid a run in. They hang out here once in a while.
There are some nice places to enjoy the river along the way, especially if you have a dog that likes to swim.
