A Celebrity Series Cache and pretty quick to find so you will get to linger just long enough to admire the area, and then move on for more fun.
This home across the street was the former home of Barry Manilow and a near-perfect example of postwar modernism, cira 1946 and has become one of the most photographed homes in Palm Springs.
Manilow was enjoying the homes' comforts, however, he was too busy to consider repairing it and by 1993, he moved on. The dwelling, was sold to a Newport Beach couple for $982,500. The couple, who are architectual historians, faithfully restored the orginal work, winning raves from preservationists nationwide.
Mr. Manilow continues to have a home in the desert.
