Geocache Description:

I've wanted to check out this area for quite a while, and when a few new caches came out, I decided it was about time. The most direct route out here is to take Emerson Drive south until it turns into Bayside Lakes Blvd, which turns into J.A. Bombardier Blvd.

Be warned! There are no street signs out here. It's easy to get lost. You might want to print a map, then count streets while you're wandering in and back out of the area. This is the area where GDC built tons of roads and lots of people bought property. Then the bottom fell out (GDC was exposed for ripping people off, and they went bankrupt), and today the property isn't worth what they paid for it 20 years ago. No homes, grass and even trees growing through the streets. But, it's nice and quiet. You can hear the birds and crickets, and you can hear the breezes blowing through the tall grasses.

At the western edge of this area is a canal which borders the St. Johns River Water Management District. It's actually a very pretty area, except for the trash. The cache is not near the water's edge, and it would be best to keep pets and small children away from the water's edge. I did see an alligator while placing this cache. Also caught a glimpse of a water turtle. There were also very few mosquitos, though I did come home with a tick (hey, it's Florida).

Cache is a lock-n-lock box in camo, pretty easy to find. Please rehide well, and enjoy the view!
