Edmonton's first annual geocaching event took place on October 30, 2004. This is the third anniversary event and will be held from 1100-1500 on Saturday, November 3, 2007.
Usual drill - covered shelter in Emily Murphy Park with great stone fire place to keep the chill out and provide heat for the hot dogs.
Bring your own food and something to share. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and hot dog sticks will be provided.
Kids caches and plenty of local caches in the neighborhood if you haven't already found them.
A bit of a twist this year. There will be a special prize raffle. Each cacher or cache team who has set a cache and had it published within 30 days BEFORE the event gets a ticket for the prize draw. Two caches equals 2 tickets, etc.. Only one nano or micro allowed per cacher or cache team who participates in the raffle.
As usual, the great volunteer spirit of Edmonton area cachers is what makes these events so successful. Volunteers to help with the kids caches, donate prizes, bring firewood, bring food to share will be appreciated.
Also, as usual, biggest welcome goes to the newer cachers. To keep this great outdoor sport vibrant, you folks are the key. Lots of friendly folks will available to answer questions about caching and to share stories of caching adventures.
See everybody there.
