Y'all come on down tuh thuh coffeh shop this mornin', won'tcha? 'Round 'bout 10 or so'ud be good.
I am Hippopotamama of Team Rampantbear from Garner, NC. I will be in town hosting a Geocaching 101 activity for some new and almost new cachers and while meeting them will be fun but I also want to meet you, the local folks in a place I've never been before. (And it can't hurt the new folks one bit to meet some cachers other than me!)
Finding traditional - physical or virtual - caches is only part of the fun and the experience of our sport. Event caches are, arguably, just as important. Event caches are where we get off the trail and sit a spell, telling tales and sharing secrets, trading trackables and honoring accomplishments. It’s good to not just be a log-in name but a face, a new cache-retrieval tool guru, a buddy to take on that huge multi that requires climbing gear, and all of the other wonderful things that we do together, not as individuals but as a group, big or small.
Please come out and join our small group at the coffee shop at 10, introduce yourselves and help to introduce these new folks to the other side of our sport – the Event Cache. Bring your favorite tool, your best story, and your coin collection and have a cuppa with us! I'll be there with my Southeren Belles on .... *I know, bad Hippo, sorry pun*
