Carmel-by-the-Sea: Wealth and Stealth
A
Geocaching Tour of Carmel-by-the-Sea
This
series is designed to offer a variety of geocaching challenges
ranging from level one to level three. Some of the caches will be a
quick and easy grab. The rest are located in a busy urban area and
may require stealth techniques, a high level of patience, advance
planning, or return visits.
Scenic
Carmel-by-the-Sea is an impulse shopper's paradise. An extravagant
buying spree could be launched with the acquisition of a pair of
$500. jeans, a set of gem studded booties for your Poodle, (or a
leather bomber jacket for your Pug), and a diamond or two for
yourself from Tiffany's. Enjoy lunch with a spendy bottle of wine
from one of our fine restaurants, then visit one of our 100 plus(!)
art galleries to pick up a few pieces of original art. Cap off the
day in a "grande" way with the purchase of an oceanfront home for a
mere 10 million. Looking for a bargain? I think you can still find
a fixer upper shed or garage for about a mil.
Naturally, with so much cash flowing around, you'll see a
few banks adorning our quaint village streets. The cache is located
near a sidewalk / walkway that is next to a bank parking lot. If
you find the right bank, you've got your "wealth". When you find
the right walkway, activate your "stealth". Then you'll have your
cache.
Please note, although you can see the bank from the cache
location, the cache is not right outside the bank, or in the
parking lot. It is howvere located NEXT to the parking lot. Steer
clear of the bank (it is just a point of reference). The container
is a small harmless looking tupperware, well concealed. If you are
concerned about the parking guard, please do some advance planning
and grab this cache during the advised times listed under STEALTH
HELP.
STEALTH HELP: You may want to attempt this cache either
before or after retail hours. Early mornings before 8:45, or Sunday
when the bank is closed will alleviate the parking guard problem.
Wednesdays the bank does not have a parking guard. Also the art
gallery is closed on Tues and Wed, so that may help. Just a
thought....
Congrats Hidey Hunter for the FTF!
