Didsbury is a town in central Alberta, Canada, at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
Located near the Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Highway 2), it is approximately the half-way point between the Cities of Calgary and Red Deer. Other nearby towns include: Olds (north), Carstairs (south), Cremona (west), and Acme (east).
The town is named after the town of Didsbury in Manchester, England. The first settlers were Dutch loyalist Mennonites that were granted this area in 1894 by Sir John A MacDonald. 1897 saw the arrival of the railway, but this did not bring any major development. Didsbury was incorporated as a village in 1905 and as a town in 1906.
