This is my first hide.
GC16JC5
Cache is located near Walnut Grove but within Shelby Farms.
Parking is located at N35 08.335 W89 48.280 at the dog park. Hike
will be fairly easy until you near the cache. It is located about
.5 miles from the parking at the dog park. Once you get warm you
will have to go down a hill and cross a creek. Brush is fair to
moderate. You might encounter the usual outdoor hazards. Bugs,
thorns, poison ivy, snakes, spiders, ticks, mud, and water,
etc...
As you can see this is a themed cache. I really love when
football season rolls around. My idea was to have a football themed
cache and attempt to keep some of the trade items football related.
I wanted to wait until I had found at least 10 before I hid one. I
have found 21 caches to date thus the name for my cache. My goal
was a cache that people were glad they found who can share my
enjoyment of football and geocaching.
You are looking for a camoflage .50 ammo can. My best effort
will be taken to keep this out of plain sight. First few to find
will not be sorry. Here is a list of the loot.
- Geocaching braclet
- Rhino Skin Palm Pilot case fits several
- A few universal styluses that fit older palms
- Football cards (please only take one per person)
- Screen protector kits great for your Palm or GPS device (please
only take one)
- 9 LED flashlight with batteries
- Ceramic football pull chain for a ceiling fan
- "Are you ready for some football?" travel bug
I'll see what else I can round up.
Not only will this be my first hide but also my first travel
bug. The "Are you ready for some football?" travel bug wants to
travel anywhere in the United States that football is played and
enjoyed. Perhaps you can take him to your local town's football
game and post a picture with the final score or something. The
ultimate goal for my first travel bug is to have someone take him
to the Super Bowl and get his picture taken there or with a ticket
stub commemorating the event. Perhaps he can meet a coach, player,
or even a pair of cheerleaders. :-) Then I would like to see if he
can make his way back to a nearby cache.
I lowered the ratings by .5 based off of the questions to allow
for my noobness. Don't think the terrain will too much of a
challenge but sorry there is no wheelchair access for this one.
