This cache was placed for the 2007 Public Lands Day. Nationally, this event takes place on the last Saturday in September. In the Las Cruces area, however, this event is usually held in October to avoid the heat.
This is an easy to find cache along the trail that winds around Tortugas "A" Mountain. Trail is mostly flat and well-defined, making this perfect for hiking or biking. The cache is approximately 1/4 of a mile from a good parking spot.
