The Desing waterfall is situated on the Shanjhu Lake Industrial
Trail, in Siaobant, Lugu Township, and is in the upstream area of
the Dongpuna River that rises in Dalunshan, which is a branch of
the Dongpuna River.
The waterfall was formed by the riveras it cut through the
Diesihmakeng rock formation. The waterfall is divided into two
parts. an uppersection and a lower section, and rises to a hight of
over 67m. there is a trial beside the waterfall that you can climb
which leads to the upper section and allows a full appreciation of
the waterfull.
The upper section has been eroded by the water for hundreds of
years, so a deep pan-shaped pool has developed within the rock
formation, from which the water tumbles down to the lower level.
The water flows continually all year round and the pool is cool and
clean. In addition, the cliffs surrounding the area stand tall, the
trees are bense and thick, and the wild birds and creatures in the
river are playing happily.
Visitors can choose to hike or climb the ancient hiking pathway,
where they will be able to appreciate the beautiful Meng-zong
bamboo forest. Form the Siaobantian Tourist Center, it takes about
one hour to walk to the waterfall, or about 15 minutes if you
driving by car.
