Handyman Can! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ggariepy: Sadly, the cache did not fare well over the winter. Three of the six hides went missing. As you can see, there have been a number of problems with this cache, and it's become too difficult to maintain for the number of people who've actually gone looking for it. I'm shutting 'er down. The trackable items are in my hands, and will be moved along shortly.

Thanks for seeking this one. It was fun while it lasted.

Geocache Description:

6-part multi in Sterling Height's Nelson Park

THE CACHE HAS BEEN REFRESHED, AND THE MISSING ELEMENTS WERE REPLACED ON 01-JULY-2008. PLEASE HANDLE ALL STAGES WITH CARE, AND USE CAUTION WHEN YOU SEEK THE CACHE, ESPECIALLY THE FINAL. THE FINAL WAS FOUND BY A MUGGLE ON A PICNIC TABLE OUT IN THE OPEN LAST FALL. SHEER LUCK IS THE ONLY REASON WHY IT WAS RECOVERED.

This is a 6-part multi cache ending in a traditional cache in Sterling Height's Nelson Park. Park hours are 7:00 - 10:00PM April through September, 7:00AM - 8:00PM October through March.

Perhaps today is the day you're supposed to be painting the spare bedroom or cleaning out the gutters. Maybe there's some wallpaper border to be put up, or peeling paint to be chipped. Take a break and enjoy a beautiful walk through this lovely Sterling Heights park, which is especially beautiful during fall and spring! Just don't expect to be back to your chores very quickly!

The theme of this cache is "handyman stuff" and the contents of the container are small, inexpensive items useful for doing "handyman" jobs around the house. If you don't have such items for trade, simply sign the log and move on. Kids probably won't be interested in this cache; it's likely to take too long to find, be too difficult, and the prizes at the end won't interest them!

I hope you enjoy this multi; it's intended to be difficult and time consuming. It certainly took long enough to set up! Keep track of how long it took you to work your way through it and put that information into the log.

It consists of a number of different types of hides and clues. You will need to bring your brain with you, especially to deal with the puzzle that helps locate the final!

Recommended items you have with you:
o Paper and pencil - *IMPORTANT* YOU WILL NEED THIS!
o Long pants (possible Poison Ivy in vicinity)
o Small mirror
o Flashlight
o Boots if you decide to go "stream whacking"
o A sense of humor
o A fellow geocacher to share the fun
o "Height challenged" folks might need a stepstool

*Warning* some stages likely to be inaccessible to wheelchair users.

No clues. At least one cacher was able to use the former clues to circumvent a couple of the stages.
