I stumbled onto this spooky
part of the forest purely by accident one day and a creepy feeling
washed over me. You know that kind of feeling you get when you're
in a haunted house in the middle of the night... alone! Or in a
graveyard at night and you swear you just saw a dark figure out of
the corner of your eye.
It was a bit like that but
worse. It felt like something was watching me, and that something
was EVIL! This was all farmland for about a hundred years until it
became a park in the early 1970s so there's a lot of history. Any
horrible thing could have occurred here in the past.
To find this cache you will
need to go to the coord's at the top of the page. There you will
find a hidden trailhead. You will need to follow this trail to the
intersection at N 43° 03.689 W 078° 47.313. Turn there and head to N
43° 03.573 W 078° 47.295.
Here you will find a
vantage point from where you can begin your search. Be careful in
this area there is a raccoon who likes to drop off his berries when
he's done with them, and there is a metal hook in the tree that you
can hang your flashlight or your body from. The metal hook is in a
dangerous place if you ask me, but it isn't mine so I don't mess
with it. Just use caution!
From this vantage point you
will need to shine your flashlight around and look for a white
reflector on a tree. The cache is at the base of that tree. You may
want to use a compass to plot your heading. You will be looking for
a large camo taped Lock'n'Lock covered in sticks. It contains
as much new swag as I could stuff into it, and a prize for
FTF. Watch out for ghosts, coyotes, and the headless
horseman... Oh and that darn hook. Ps. Don't get lost or
hurt, nobody will ever find you out there. This is truly the middle
of nowhere!
