Geocache Description:

A third cache to commemorate the industry that helped build many of the Cotswold villages-The Wool Trade.

Cotswolds wool merchants became very rich men,and invested some of there wealth building fine houses for themselves and also building magnificent churches for their communities.Chipping(market)Campden became the regional capital of the wool trade from the 13th to the 16th century. Its weekly market and three annual fairs made it one of the main collection points for wool in the Cotswolds,Many merchants made the town their home. One of the earliest and greatest of these merchants was William Grevel, who not only built a magnificent house for himself but also gave the town one of the finest wool churches in the Cotswolds.

There is plenty of roadside parking in Campden or pay and display by the old market hall in the high street.
From the market hall walk northeast up the high street passing many fine buildings on the way, just before the old water pump go right passing The Eight Bells inn on your left,go up the steps passing the Almhouses and left again with the church of St James on the right,go left again up the one way street to the footpath on the right, now follow the Heart of England signs to the cache.About 1.5 miles there and back.
