La torre di Groppina faceva parte della struttura difensiva del piccolo borgo di Tellaro. Posta a picco sul mare serviva da vedetta durante il periodo delle scorribande saracene.

The tower Groppina was part of the defensive structure of the small village of Tellaro. Post overlooking the sea used as a lookout during the raids Saracen.
Dalla piazzetta del paese prendere a sinistra Via Matteotti e seguire il sentiero n. 3h per Zanego-Montemarcello-Bocca di Magra. Segnavia bianco-rossi. Il cache si trova lungo questo sentiero (3h).

Durante il percorso si trova una deviazione a destra (sentiero n. 4 attualmente chiuso per frana e con vari tratti esposti) lungo il quale, dopo circa 100 metri si trova la torre Groppina.

Una passeggiata che si apre su splendidi belvederi, e si snoda su camminamenti a strapiombo sul mare. Partendo da Tellaro, attraverso la "Via Grande" o "Romana" (antica via di comunicazione con Luni tramite Ameglia), si giunge all'incrocio delle "Quattro Strade". Seguendo l'antica via ci si irige verso Punta Corvo. Lungo il percorso si incontra una antica fornace, si ammira la "Torre di Groppina", antica sentinella dei mari e attraverso "Zezigna" (dal greco "Gheghiges", la terra dei giganti), si giunge a Punta Corvo. Si trova su questo promontorio l'antico Convento di dantesca memoria. Da Punta Corvo si possono ammirare le Apuane, la costa toscana, la Corsica e le isole minori dell'arcipelago toscano.

A walk that comes upon splendid views and winds around communication trenches and sheer drops to the sea. Leaving from Tellaro, through the "Via Grande" or "Romana" (ancient road of communication with Luni through Ameglia) you come to a crossroads of "Quattro Strade".
Following the ancient road you continue towards Punta Corvo. Along the route you encounter an ancient furnace, "Torre di Groppina", ancient guardian of seas and through "Zezigna" (from the Greek "Gheghiges", the giant's land), you reach Punta Corvo. You encounter on this promontory the ancient convent in Dante's memoir. From Punta Corvo you can admire the Apuans, the Tuscan coast, Corsica and the minor islands of the Tuscan archipelago.
