Cache on a popular hiking/biking trail
For some reason, the Beaudry loop in the Verdugos is under-represented with caches. This is a popular loop with hikers and mountain bikers, and one of the best hikes in the Verdugo's. I thought I would contribute a little something to help encourage cachers to come on up. You can grab the caches on the loop, or make a longer day of it and get some of the others along the backbone trail.
This is a simple cache, a tupperware-ish plastic box on a ridge. Don't scramble, there is a very simple path to the ridge. Enjoy the hike and the views!
This is in the mountains, and I would guess everybody already knows, but the Verdugos are home to wildlife and to poison oak (although I saw no poison oak near the cache). Some animals will have long, sharp, pointy teeth. In general, wear appropriate clothing, make noise, don't reach where you can't see, etc.
