Geocache Description:

Elk River low water crossing bridge. Very easy cache. The intent of this cache was to hide it around the bridge. However it's evident by the grass hanging from the trees from this summers flooding that a cache wouldn't last long. The cache is located outside of the flood area but the idea was to mark this nice little area with public fishing. (Private land enrolled in KDWP F.I.S.H. program)

Since the State of Kansas has the great F.I.S.H. Program, I thought I would use geocaching to spotlight some of the public fishing areas in Elk County. Fishing Impoundment and Stream Habitats (F.I.S.H.) areas are privately-owned ponds or streams the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has leased and opened to public fishing. Use this as an opportunity to take a kid fishing! All state fishing regulations apply. Fishing open between March 1 and Oct 31.

Cache is an ammo can. Original contents include: Log, 2 pens for log, quarter, rubber whale and dolphin, 5 plastic jacks and 2 toy cars.
