Geocache Description:

A traditional cache in a wooded area near Dubai

The cache consists of an ordinary plastic lunchbox container wrapped in a beige cotton bag, filled with all things pink. The cache is hidden in a beautiful wooded and sandy area. While placing the cache we spotted a gazelle running away and a dhub rushing to its burrow.

Reaching the cache has become a bit of a challenge due to road and building works in the area. It can now only be reached by 4WD or by a lengthy (790 m) walk through soft sand after parking your 2WD next to the highway. After taking exit 29 off the Dubai – al Ain highway onto the E77, Lehbab - Jebel Ali highway, direction Jebel Ali, the cache can be reached via one of two entrances:
1. Drive through a gate at N24o 57.088’ E055o 22.820' The gate is padlocked, but one of the links of the chain is a simple platicised wire which can be undone.
2. Turn off onto a brand-new asphalt road at N 24o 57.029' E055o 22.511' and turn-off onto a sand track through an open gate at N 24o 57.529' E055o 22.595' 4WD vehicles can reach the cache site within 20 m.

To highlight the Breast Cancer Awareness month this cache has been dedicated to “Breast Friends”, the UAE support group for breast cancer patients. More information on this group can be found at (visit link)

Next to a whole host of pink items, it contains for each successful finder a pink ribbon and breast self-examination leaflets prepared by the Breast Friends organization. While this cache may be of specific interest to female geo-cachers, we are sure that even the most avid male geo-cacher will know a female or two in his immediate circle of friends and family who may benefit from this caches contents.
