Getting to this one forces you to go by the view - I like it year 'round, but it is different each season. Fall is quiet, almost desolate, the water is cold and calm. Winter, the water is gone, seeing it all under snow is somewhat majestic (and fun to walk with the mutt). Spring is just wet and muddy, but summer? This place is PACKED with people wanting to enjoy those few days of warmth in the sun.
This may be a seasonal cache for some:
The boat trailer parking area is empty 8-9 months of the year, and from October 1st to March 31st, the park is usually empty, quiet, and open daylight hours only. (7:30 - 4:30) Stealth concerns at a minimum.
In the summer, there is rarely any parking, and a sheriff's deputy turning people away from the entrance when it is full, and an access fee for vehicles - which would make the terrain rating go up significantly due to the long hike in if there is no room or you don't want to pay the entranc fee - I'd make it a 3.5. Also, the stealth issue will go WAY up.
**UPDATE** use the door
The cache itself is NO LONGER a small metal container (I have not only rethought the size, but replaced it with a mid-size clear lock-n-lock from geoswag). It is STILL WELL HIDDEN, a little farther from the pavement (20 metres or so) from the NE corner of the parking lot.
This one is now restocked with some cool pins and more Spookdawg13 wooden nickels.
