With the Meydan urban development project thoroughly reshaping
Dubai’s Nadd al Sheba area, there was a need to find a home for the
city’s erstwhile most favorite sport, camel racing. This has been
created next to the village of al Lisaili, along the Dubai-al Ain
highway, in an area called Ma’moun. A significantly upgraded camel
racing track and a brand-new stadium offer the chance for a “Moment
of Glory” for many an Emirati camel-racing hopeful.

The cache consists of a standard lock-and-lock lunchbox container
wrapped in the ubiquitous old brown sock. As this is a replacement
for the original cache which has been muggled, the contents have
been kept cheap and cheerful!
To reach the cache turn of from the E66, Dubai - al Ain highway at
exit 37, towards al Lisaili. Take the first turn-off to the right
some 50 m after the speed bump. Once arrived at the race track,
stay on the outermost hardtop road skirting the nested set of camel
race tracks. Please park your car next to the tarmac road at the
coordinates provided below, and do not go off-road driving as: the
sand is very soft, car tracks leading to the cache site are a
muggle-magnet and the fragile desert eco-system can do with a few
less tyre-tracks.
Why not come and search for this cache on a Friday morning and hang
around to see some of the spectacular “camel and robot” races when
you have had enough of searching for geo-caches for a while (I know
this seems hardly possible, but a 10 minute intermezzo maybe????
)
