Geocache Description:

This is a Halloween cache in honor of The Magic Man himself, who loves Frite Nite.

WARNING: This is a true story and is not fit for the faint of heart. However, if you choose to go after this cache, you should know what has happened here before. The murder remains unsolved, so beware.

Several years ago a young, newlywed couple decided to go caching on Halloween as was their tradition. Around midnight, they were looking for a cache in these same woods and became separated. Suddenly, the young girl heard her husband gasp and she turned just in time to see his headlamp fall to the ground. Calling his name brought no response…all she could hear in the dark was the sound of footsteps in the leaves steadily making their way toward her. Knowing that it was not her husband, she screamed and began running toward the highway. She could hear the footsteps getting closer and closer. In her panic, she ran in front of a car that could not stop in time and she was brutally killed. The police searched the surrounding woods for a reason as to why she had run into the road and found her husband’s decapitated body lying not too far away. Search as they did, they never found his head or any clue as to who murdered him. It’s been said that if you go to this area of woods on Halloween night around midnight, you can see the headless ghost of the young man walking around as if he is searching for something. No one knows if he is looking for his head or for his lost love.
