The first thing you will need to do is read over the questions
below as some of them will require online research to find the
answers. I repeat, SOME of the questions you will NOT be able to
find the answers to at the lake, so do not head out until you have
done your homework! No worries, it is not that difficult and a
simple Google search will give you the correct answers in just a
matter of minutes. The answers to the other questions will be
easily answered at the correct boat launch described below.
There are two boat launches on this lake, one in Venango Co and
one in Clarion Co. You will need to find out which one is in
Clarion County and go to that boat launch parking lot. The same
online search you used to answer some of the questions below will
also show you which boat launch you will need to go to and how to
get there.
Coordinates to the cache are: N41 AB.CDE 079 FG.HIJ
Once in the Clarion County boat launch parking lot, all the
answers to the remaining questions should be easy to obtain, just
do your arithmetic carefully. GOOD LUCK!!
AB is the number of posts in the parking area WITH a cable
attached to them minus 1
C is the number of letters in the first word of the saying in
quotes on the memorial located near the boat launch plus 4
DE is the number of posts in the parking area WITHOUT cables
minus 3
FG is the first two digits in the total acreage of the lake plus
13
H is the number of letters in the name of the lake
IJ is the minimum length a Largemouth Bass must be in order to
keep it in this lake (this is the same for all Big Bass Lakes) Plus
3
Once you find these answers, you should be able to plot them and
find the cache without problems. The cache was hidden at a spot
that will give you a view of the lake from a different perspective.
There is a decent path that will take you directly to the cache.
Please stay on the path as there are berry bushes and other thorny
type bushes right off the trail. The path is easy going and is flat
all the way to the cache. There might be one small water hazard you
will need to cross, but a large adult step should be sufficient to
navigate it.
While you are in this area, you might want to find the two other
caches that are located around this lake. The Kahle Lake Multi (a
boat of some kind is highly suggested for this one) and the Kahle’s
“Dam” Cache.
